I photograph women through seasons of change. Motherhood, Creativity, Identity, New beginnings. The quiet becoming that happens between one version of ourselves and the next.


Whether you’re stepping into something new, finding your way back to yourself, or simply wanting photographs that feel honest and natural. This is the place for you.


Most of the women I photograph tell me they’re nervous.

I still feel nerves every time I get in front of a camera. Many tell me they don’t know how to pose. Some tell me they almost didn’t book at all. I understand. It's actually through my own experiences I fell in love with this work, because I have felt the impact, when I thought why me?


I have been there before myself.



My sessions are relaxed, gently guided and created for women not professional models. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s creating a reminder,

you deserve to be seen as you are.

I’m Marjolein McPherson Brits

 

I didn’t arrive at photography through a lifelong plan.

Or a five-year business strategy.

Last year I simply wanted better photographs of my children.

The real kind, the muddy feet, wild hair, ordinary magic kind.


Then a friend invited me to a photography workshop and something clicked. Looking back, it feels obvious now.


Photography became the perfect way to express ideas and projects I had been feeling for over a decade and I finally gave myself permission to use it.

Our time together


Relaxed, Gentle and far less awkward than you’re imagining right now.

Before your session we’ll connect and talk through any questions, ideas or nerves you might have. You’ll receive a simple guide to help you prepare, and together we’ll choose a location that feels natural and comfortable. Most sessions take place outdoors in nature, where there’s room to move, breathe and let go of the pressure to “get it right.” I’ll guide you every step of the way. You don’t need to know how to pose.

You just need to show up.

It looks at all the different stages and transitions that shift in that process.  Not just the soft moments, but the complexity, transformation, grief, beauty, tension and all that is often left unsaid.
